Anesthesiology Program celebrates commencement with Graduation Luau

The Landon Events Room was transformed into a "Hawaiian Island" for the Masters in Anesthesiology Graduation Luau. Students graduating also received university lab coats with MS, CRNA credentials.

Program graduated 47 students this year

The Anesthesiology Program kicked off commencement in style this year, with a Graduation Luau in honor of their class of 2007 graduates.

Over 200 guests visited "Hawaiian Island" on Friday, May 4, 2007 in the Landon Events Room. Dressed in their finest Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts, the partiers enjoyed authentic Polynesian foods, tropical drinks with umbrellas, festive music and even hula hoops.

This year’s class graduates 47 Nurse Anesthetists from the university’s program, which is one of the largest in the country. The program’s faculty have confidence in this class, so much so that they presented them with a token of their success before their graduation.

“Mr. McFadden and the Anesthesiology staff were so confident that all of our graduates will pass the board certification exam that each student was given a Barry University lab coat with the credentials MS, CRNA as a graduation gift,” said Mercedes Diaz-Rodriguez, operations manager for the program.

The event was sponsored by the Anesthesiology Program's clinical partners and enjoyed by faculty, staff, graduates and family members.

Best wishes go out to graduating students, now Barry Alumni.
